On-Campus Interviewing
[Printer-Friendly Format]

UICCareers.com

»Your visit to campus is advertised to students, and the students sign up for the interviews through UICCareers.com. Interview applications start at the beginning of the semester and are continuous. The schedule locks several days before your visit, although last-minute changes may occur.

»Our customary interview scheduling style is all Preselect, although you have the option of an all Open schedule. Students must meet the requirements you establish in order to sign up for a schedule (Open AND Pre-Select). The computer program automatically screens for these areas, so please be sure to indicate any requirements that you have for each position on your Recruiting Information Form.

PRE-SELECTION/CLOSED SCHEDULES

»Resumes for Pre-Select schedules will be available to employers through the UICCareers.com. Pre-Select Deadlines will be set in the system according to your interview date. Please have your decisions made early enough to allow students enough time to sign-up for an interview slot.

ELIGIBILITY

»Students must be graduating in the current academic year in order to participate in on-campus interviews. (For example, May and July graduates interview in the Fall and Spring prior to graduation. December grads interview the Fall prior, and the Spring following graduation.) They must also have uploaded an approved resume and have attended a Career Preparation Seminar, a program consisting of skills assessment, job search techniques, networking, and interview preparation, before signing up for interviews.

NO-SHOW POLICY

»We maintain a strict no-show policy if students miss an interview. The policy reads:

Students who fail to show up for an interview without notifying Career Services at least 24 hours before the scheduled interview will be denied further on-campus interview privileges."

LOCATION/PARKING

»Career Services is located in the Student Services Building at 1200 W. Harrison Street, Room 3050. Parking instructions and Directions to UIC will be sent to you approximately two weeks before your visit.

LUNCHEON ARRANGEMENTS

»You will receive a list of  places to eat on the day of your visit.
