New Assistant Directors We are proud to annoounce the addition of three new people to our staff. Please visit our staff page to read a bit more about them. Elizabeth Herrera, Mark Martell, and Laura Myers are all joining the UIC Office of Career Services as Assistant Directors.
Expanded Services Because of our new staff we are now able to expand our drop-in advising and mock interviews to 5 days a week. Below are the new times for both services. For Mock Intervews, you need to make an appointment in advance by calling 312-996-2300. For drop-in advising, just stop by our office in SSB 3050 between the stated hours.

The UIC Office of Career Services and the UIC Student Employment are now both located in the Student Services Building, room 3050. Now you can come to one location for your career development, career exploration, and job search needs.
The UIC Office of Career Services is now accepting participants for the LAS & Business Mock Interview Workshop. This is a special 1/2 day workshop for LAS & Business students graduating December 2007, May 2008, or July 2008.
How does the LAS & Business Mock Interview Workshop benefit you?
- You will be interviewed by a company representative who recruites at UIC and you will get feedback on your interviewing skills, resume, and professional attire
- You will get fully registered with Career Services allowing you to participate in on-campus interviewing and view job postings
- You will gain information on cover letter writing and networking
- Employers will get your resume before everyone else who is graduating in December 2007, May 2008, and July 2008.
- You will have a tasty lunch and networking session with company recruiters

There will be No Walk-ins on Thursday 7/20/06.
On Friday July 14, 2006 Career Advisors will be attending an all day staff meeting. During this time the career resources library will be open and available for your use. Front dest staff will be available for assistance with general question. This all day staff meeting allows us to plan our services and evaluate how to best serve you during the upcoming school year.
Employers are eager to interact with you during the 2006-2007 school year. There is still a month before the 2006-2007 school year begins and there are already 18 employers registered to conduct on-campus interviews and/or information sessions, 20 employers registered for the Fall Diversity Career fair, and 30 representatives registered for Chicago Graduate and Professional School Fair.

As of 1/10/06, 27 employers are registered for the Spring Diversity Career Fair. Due to campus costruction, this will be the only career fair for non education majors during Spring Semester.
-December 2005- We are open during winter break to assist you! However, we will be closed Monday 12/26/05 through Monday 1/2/06 in observation of several winter holidays. We will close at 5:00pm on Friday 12/23/05 and reopen at 8:30am on Tuesday 1/3/06. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all. |
