Each year every college at UIC holds their own individual commencements.  These quality commencement ceremonies allow for each graduate to be individually recognized.

The new commencement model was adopted in 2004 to enhance the overall student graduation experience, allowing for individual recognition as well as the ability for students to invite more guests.

The new commencement model has been very well received by colleges, students, and guests.
