There are numerous sites on the web where students and parents can go for further information. Although the UIC Office of Student Financial Aid does not endorse the following sites or assert that all the information they contain is accurate, these sites are some of the best. Students should consult with UIC financial aid counselors if they have further questions.

The Student Guide
The Federal Department of Education offers this helpful guide. It contains general information, eligibility guidelines, and descriptions of all major federal aid programs.

Financial Aid Information Page
This is an easy-to-use guide to financial aid programs and terms.

FAFSA Application Directions
The FAFSA application can be confusing to complete. Look here if you are not sure how to answer a question.

Pin Home Page - U.S. Department of Education
Your PIN can be used each year to electronically apply for federal student aid and to access your U.S. Department of Education records online. Your PIN serves as your electronic signature and provides access to your personal records.

Direct Loan Electronic Promissory Note
This web site is for completing a Direct Loan Program electronic Master Promissory Note (MPN) for student loans that you take out to pay for your own education, or for parent PLUS loans that you take out to pay for your child's education.  You will be required to use your U.S. Department of Education issued PIN to complete an electronic MPN. For additional information or to ask general PIN questions, you can visit the official PIN site.

Check your federal student loan history online.  You can use the web site to make inquiries about your Title IV loans and/or Pell grants.  The site displays information on loan and/or grant amounts, outstanding balances, loan statuses, and disbursements.  In order to use the NSLDS Student Access web site, you will need to provide your social security number (SSN), the first two digits of your last name, your date of birth, and your PIN (formerly known as EAC).

Perkins Promissory Note E-Sign
This web site is for completing a UIC Federal Perkins Loan Electronic Promissory Note.

Repaying Your Loans:
Once you are finished with school, you will have to start repaying your loans.  You can access your total federal student loan history at NSLDS.  You can access your Direct Loans at the Direct Loan Servicing website.  You can discuss repayment of your Perkins, Nursing Student Loans, and Health Profession Student Loans with University Student Financial Services and Cashier Operations (USFSCO) and ACS.
