Preparing for Orientation

Students

We are excited that you have selected UIC to pursue your undergraduate education and look forward to meeting you at Orientation! By addressing your specific needs as a new student, the Orientation Program is designed to help you make the most of your UIC experience, and is an important step in making this a meaningful and satisfying transition.

A Special Invitation to Parents and Guests

UIC is proud to offer an orientation program for parents and guests. The Parent Orientation Program is an excellent opportunity to help parents and family members become familiar with the campus and its resources, policies, and procedures. UIC believes that families play a significant role in a student’s adjustment to college life. This program will provide parents with the information needed to help support their student during their transition to UIC.

Reservations

To schedule your orientation session, please contact the Orientation Program at (312) 996-3271.Our reservationists will inform you of the first available date for your academic program. You should receive written confirmation of your reservation from the Orientation Program at least two weeks prior to your scheduled date.

If your parents or family members plan to attend the separate yet concurrent Parent Orientation Program, we highly recommend that the reservation for their orientation be made at the same time you make your reservation for the student program. When making your reservation, please let us know the number and names of family members attending and any disability/meal requirements.
