Step 1: Activate NetID and EnterpriseID

Your ACCC NetID and Common Password will allow you to access University computers, create a UIC e-mail account, and purchase discounted software. Your EnterpriseID and Enterprise Password will allow you access to course registration and student financial records. Visit http://orientation.accc.uic.edu and follow the instructions.

Step 2: Activate Your Portal Account

Please follow the instructions under “First Time Portal Users” to activate your portal account before logging into my.UIC. UIC Connect is a tab in my.UIC. We encourage you to visit the site regularly to check your messages and obtain new information.

Step 3: Log into my.UIC

To access UIC Connect, please go to: http://connect.osss.uic.edu and log into my.UIC.

Step 3: Schedule and Take Placement Test

If you need to take placement tests, you must do so at least two weeks prior to your orientation date. Placement tests are scheduled in UIC Connect. Visit http://orientation.accc.uic.edu. Log into my.UIC and select the UIC Connect tab. Click on the Placement Test Reservation link under “My Links” on the “My College” page in UIC Connect.

Step 4: Schedule Orientation

Call the Orientation Program at (312) 996-3271 to make your reservation. If one or both of your parents plan on attending the Parent Orientation Program, please make their reservations with our staff at this time.  It is important to have this invitation available so you can write down your orientation date, the date you called and the reservationist you spoke to during your call.

Step 6: PLAN TO BRING...

  • A government-issued photo ID, such as driver’s license or passport.  For questions regarding alternate forms of identification contact Blanca Nieves at (312) 996-3356
  • Comfortable walking shoes and warm clothing appropriate for the days weather
  • Money for miscellaneous expenses, such as parking or university souvenirs
  • Your NetID, EnterpriseID, and password information
  • Personal care products (for overnight stay)
  • Bank account information (checking/savings) in order to enroll in direct deposit for faster/easier access to your financial aid refund

Step 7: ATTEND ORIENTATION

Please arrive no later than 7:45 a.m. at the Student Services Building, (1200 West Harrison Street) on the date of your scheduled program. Upon arrival you will meet with your Student Orientation Leader, a current UIC student who will guide you through your day. Parents and students will follow different programs specially tailored to their needs. Through various activities during the day, you will become better acquainted with all the aspects of the UIC community and the vast opportunities that await you here!

Step 8: MAKE ORIENTATION FEE PAYMENT

Expect to be charged the orientation fee on your university bill shortly after you reserve a date. If you have scheduled your date and have not yet been charged, please still attend your program.
