There are specially arranged testing sessions that precede a few scheduled orientation programs, with results available to you the next day during the course registration process. These concurrent testing dates and orientation programs are:

Students taking placement tests and attending orientation in one visit to campus may stay in university housing. Placement Testing
All beginning freshmen and many transfer students entering UIC are required to take one or more placement tests prior to the first semester of study. Placement tests MUST be taken no less than two weeks PRIOR to attending the Orientation Program. For more information on placement tests, please consult your “Basic Information for Newly Admitted Students" booklet (i.e. acceptance packet) to determine which test you should take, or visit www.uic.edu/depts/counselctr/testing/Testing_Programs/PEP/.
To schedule your tests, visit: https://placement.testing.uic.edu/reservations/. If you have any additional questions please call (312) 996-3477.
Advanced Placement (AP) Credit/ International Baccalaureate Credit (IB)
If you have received AP or IB credit (or expect credit but do not yet have your score), tell your academic advisor at orientation. Your advisor will use that information, along with your placement test results, to help you in determining the appropriate courses for fall registration.
e-CHUG
e-CHUG is an online alcohol education questionnaire that raises awareness about alcohol consumption and promotes the responsible use of alcohol. e-CHUG can be completed in about twenty minutes. Through a series of questions you will learn about the realities of alcohol use for yourself and your peers. This questionnaire is to be completed prior to attending orientation. For more information please read the enclosed e-CHUG letter or visit the Orientation Program or Wellness Center Web site at www.vcsa.uic.edu.
