Regular Student Worker positions (10-15 hrs/wk):
Office Assistant (General Office Aide)
Pay Rate: $7.50/hr
Job Description:
· Serve as an information resource on SLDVS office activities and events
· advertise for events
· use organization skills
· inventory supplies
· communicate within the University
· answer phones
· check mail
· other duties as assigned

Program Assistant (General Office Assistant)
Pay Rate: $8.01/hr
Requirements: At least 2 years of prior office experience. Job Description:
· Assist Leadership or Volunteer GA
· attend programs and events
· create/design flyers for events
· compile and update records related to area
· outreach to university organizations
· serve as a resource for program-related questions
· send e-mails to various list-servs
· other duties as assigned

Graduate Assistantships (50% time – 20 hrs/wk):
Graduate Assistant – Leadership Programs Pay Rate: Tuition and stipend set by university
Job Description: The Graduate Assistant under the direction of the Assistant and Associate Director will serve the Office of Student Leadership Development and Volunteer Services. The Graduate Assistant will work with Leadership Programs focusing on collaboratively planning and facilitating major office events.
Specifically, the GA will:
· Plan and implement the Student Leadership Development program components
· Design presentation materials and resources consistent with the Student Leadership Development mission and goals
· Research current issues, literature, and resources in leadership education
· Provide outreach to UIC student groups through presentations to promote programs, resources, and services
· Develop publicity for programs
· Update webpage related to leadership programs
· Assist with planning of ELP and Annual Student Leadership Conference
· Coordinate selection of Who’s Who Awards
· Assist with UIC Ambassador selection and training
· Assist the Assistant and Associate Directors with long- and short-term projects
· Maintain Leadership databases
· Maintain Leadership files
· Work directly with Student Leadership Program Assistant
· Attend all Student Leadership Development program events and meetings as negotiated
· Provide office coverage as scheduled
· Other duties as assigned
Special Skills required: Offer is contingent on being
accepted to a UIC graduate program. Must have
experience with leadership programming , program
planning, and/or held leadership positions. IT need not
apply unless student has direct experience with leadership
programs.
Graduate Assistant - Volunteer Services Pay Rate: Tuition and stipend set by university Job Description: The Graduate Assistant under the

Volunteer Services focusing on collaboratively planning

· Coordinate the Get Involved in Volunteer Experiences (G.I.V.E.) Program
· Update webpage related to volunteer services
· Assist with planning of CSSA ceremony
· Plan a once a semester volunteer recognition event
· Maintain Volunteer databases
· Maintain Volunteer files
· Maintain contact with volunteer agencies
· Maintain and distribute a list of volunteer opportunities for student organizations
· Assist Assistant Director with Volunteer Board
· Work directly with Student Volunteer Program Assistant
· Attend all Volunteer Services program events and meetings as negotiated
· Provide office coverage as scheduled
· Other duties as assigned
